The Plano East Rotary Club Foundation is the charitable arm of the Plano East Rotary Club.  Our Foundation is dedicated to serving our community by supporting and honoring those who safeguard our freedoms and enhance our well-being. Through our flagship program, the Plano Flags of Honor, we raise funds and awareness for veteran and first responder causes, acknowledging their immense service and sacrifice. Additionally, we are committed to promoting health, safety, and education through initiatives like Project Hand Up, and we actively support local food banks, distribution centers, youth literacy projects, scholarships, and community drives. Our mission is to give back to those who have given so much and to foster a community of compassion and support.  The Plano East Rotary Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.  Donations are tax deductible.

 

 

This is a week long annual event to honor veterans and first responders.  There is a display of over 1,000 3 x 5 American Flags.  Each flag is dedicated to a veteran or first responder by members of the community.  We have musical performances, speakers, static displays and more throughout the week.  Funds raised through this event go to support Veterans and First Responder causes.  

 

 

Project Hand up is an educational initiative in behaviour change communication.  They use television and live, community and school based presentations to teach children and families about health, safety and disease prevention in Africa.  videos.  This organization reaches millions of viewers each day.  We partnered with another Rotary Club to sponsor  a video about Covid and the benefits of hand washing.  We also raise funds to provide new equipment that improves the speed and quality of future videos.

 

 

The Guerrero Clinic provides free eye care to patients in need in Chihuahua, Mexico.  Services include eye exams, eyeglasses, cataract surgery and dental procedures.  Contact us at info@planoeastrotaryclubfoundation.org if you would like information about donating eyeglasses for the clinic or volunteering at the clinic.  

 

 

 

Other club initiatives include supporting local food banks, providing meals for clients of Journey of Hope, collection and distribution of hygiene kits, youth literacy projects, clothing drives, and more.
